Gerard Visser’s friends, colleagues and acquaintances meticulously fish the seeds off the plate with tweezers. “Only four are allowed in a bag, otherwise we won’t have enough for all the people.” Annetje Ottow and Ellen Meijerink are thrilled that they can help with their friend’s campaign, which has gone viral.

Spanish bludger

They put the four seeds of the special tomato in envelopes. It is the Mar Azul, also called the Tomato Negro or the Cherokee Tomato. On Instagram, Gé was so impressed by the enormous purple tomato from Spain that he named it the Spanish Bludger.

And because he had received the tomato seeds from his neighbor, Gé thought it was only logical to distribute the seeds himself. “Sharing is multiplying and I really like that,” he says enthusiastically.
