GAZPROM reports increase in sales despite decline in exports – Strong increase in income due to high energy prices

“The new budget reflects a 34 percent increase in revenue from gas sales compared to the original budget,” GAZPROM Deputy CEO Famil Sadygow said on Thursday, according to the company’s Telegram channel. The lower physical sales of gas exports have been fully offset by the rising gas export price.

The increase in revenue in the first half of the year will allow, among other things, to implement tax increases and important investment projects, such as the “Power of Siberia” pipeline and deposits on the Yamal Peninsula in northern Siberia, Sadygov said. According to him, 1.2 trillion rubles (about 20 billion euros) will also be spent on dividend payments.

GAZPROM significantly reduced gas deliveries to Europe this year. Among other things, the previously throttled Nord Stream 1 pipeline was completely shut down at the beginning of September – allegedly due to technical problems. In the West, this justification is considered to be a pretense. Politicians in Berlin said that Russia wanted to increase the pressure on Europe in the Ukraine war with the delivery stop and force a relaxation of sanctions.
