German gas stations on the border with the Netherlands expect a massive influx of Dutch motorists from Wednesday.

The German government has cut taxes on petrol by 35 cents from Wednesday and 17 cents for diesel. This can save around 50 cents per liter of petrol for Dutch motorists.

Old stock for old price
Motorists who report on Wednesday may also be confronted with disappointment. Quite a few brands first use up the old stock at the old price before lowering the prices. At the same time, the major petrol companies have also pushed up prices in Germany considerably in the past two weeks, so that a large part of the advantage in costs has already evaporated. Quite a few German media have been disgraceful about this in recent days.
