Gas leak in the center of De Haan closed

The leak originated during road works. A tap hit the medium pressure pipe. The council asked to avoid the neighborhood. She also asked the residents of Grotestraat, Stationsstraat, Kardinaal Mercierlaan and Bredeweg to stay indoors and to keep windows and doors closed.

The residents were not evacuated, because that would have been too risky. The leak was temporarily closed around 12.30 pm and after the final sealing, around 1 pm, the perimeter was released again.
