Gas bottle explodes – one seriously injured

On Saturday evening at around 9:35 p.m., an 11 kg gas bottle exploded in an adjoining building of a residential building in Sputendorf (Potsdam-Mittelmark district) in Eichenallee.

The first responders to arrive found a burning building and an injured man. The 38 emergency services from the fire brigade and rescue service quickly got the fire under control and treated the injured person.

A rescue helicopter from Berlin flew the man to a special clinic. A specialist commissioner of the Brandenburg police is investigating the cause of the fire and the explosion.
