Gareth Bale, 33, is ending his career. The football player told about the decision on Monday on his Twitter account.

Bale published two long texts.

– After careful consideration, I announce that I will end my club team and national team career immediately, Bale writes.

Bale won the Champions League no less than five times in his career, always in a Real Madrid shirt. The player also celebrated three La Liga titles.

Bale represented Wales in 111 international matches and scored 41 goals. He led Wales to the 2016 and 2020 European Championships and the World Cup in December.

In his home country, Bale represented Southampton and Tottenham.

– I’m really lucky to be able to fulfill my dream and play the sport I love. Football has given me the best moments of my life. I am proud and grateful for my club team career.

– Representing and captaining the national team was my dream. Retiring from international football has been one of the most difficult decisions of my career.

In his statement, the soccer player thanked his former clubs, coaches, teammates, other club staff, fans and agents.

He wrote touchingly about those close to him.

– My parents and sister. Without your dedication early in my career, I would not be writing this statement.

– My wife and children. Your love and support has carried me. You have been by my side in good and bad times. Because of you, I want to be better and make you proud.

Bale played this season in the United States for Los Angeles FC. He wrote that now there are new adventures ahead.
