Sevilla FC has always had the problem of being number 2 in the city. I’ve been to Seville several times and it really felt like everyone I met was a Betis fan and the Betis stadium is more modern and full, the fan scene is also pro-Betis, many, many more supporters in Seville and also in Spain.
Perhaps without sporting success, interest in Betis has slipped a little more. Since Betis is a student club, they have always had very good marketing and attract a lot of young spectators to the stadium, while FC is more of a bigwig club.
