Gap is immediately removing Yeezy Gap products from stores

Fashion company Gap is accelerating the removal of Yeezy Gap products from its stores and confirms the brand’s website has been shut down. The partnership with Ye, formerly Kanye West, ended in September.

In a statement, Gap said: “In September, Gap announced it was ending its partnership with Yeezy Gap. The recent comments and behavior of our former partner underscore why. We have taken immediate steps to remove Yeezy Gap products from our stores and we have closed YeezyGap.com.”

“Anti-Semitism, racism and hatred in any form are inexcusable and, in line with our values, will not be tolerated. On behalf of our customers, employees and shareholders, we partner with organizations fighting hate and discrimination.”

The move follows Ye’s recent anti-Semitic comments on social media and his “White Lives Matter” t-shirt at his Yeezy Szn-9 show during Paris Fashion Week. This has led to Adidas ending its partnership after “reviewing” the long-running Yeezy line earlier this month. Other organizations have also distanced themselves from the controversial artist, including Balenciaga, Vogue and talent agency CAA.
