Gangsta’s Paradise rapper Coolio (59) passed away

American rapper Coolio has died at the age of 59. That reports the entertainment website TMZ Thursday morning. The rapper, whose real name is Artis Ivey, died in Los Angeles while visiting a friend. The cause of death is unknown. So far, according to TMZ, there appears to be no murder or manslaughter.

Coolio’s manager tells TMZ that the rapper went to the toilet but stayed away for a very long time. His friend had called him several times before he went to look, and eventually found the rapper on the bathroom floor. The medical team that pronounced Coolio dead at the scene suspect he died of a heart attack, the manager said.

The rapper received a Grammy in the category ‘Best Rap Solo Performance’ a year later for this song. It’s an adaptation of Stevie Wonder’s 1976 Pastime Paradise. The clip of the song is on youtube viewed over a billion times.
