Game of Thrones star honored by King Charles

Actress Emilia Clarke received the rank of Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

Actor Emilia Clarke, 37, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). King Charles awarded the title to Clarke for her services to people with cerebral palsy.

Clarke suffered two brain aneurysms in 2011 and 2013 when she was in her twenties. As a result, his brain has been permanently damaged.

Clarke has spoken about her health problems in interviews. In an interview with the BBC in 2022, Clarke assured that he is now completely healthy.

– It’s amazing that I can even speak and live my life quite normally without any special consequences. I’m in the very small minority who survive this, Clarke rejoiced in an interview with the BBC.

“It was the most excruciating pain I’ve ever experienced,” Clarke said.

Clarke founded the SameYou charity in 2016 to support people with brain injuries. Clarke has previously been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his philanthropic work.

The OBE is a rank of knighthood equal to the MBE.

Clarke was acting in the HBO hit series at the time of her illness Game of Thrones. Clarke played Daenerys Targaryen in the series.

New members of the Order of the British Empire are always appointed around the New Year.
