“Game of Thrones”: Joseph Gatt in court for sexual harassment of minors

Gatt was released on $5,000 bail after his arrest 18 months ago.

Joseph Gatt appeared in court in Los Angeles. The actor, who played the role of Thenn Warg in the HBO series “Game of Thrones,” was accused in April 2022 of sending sexually explicit messages to a minor. Now the 51-year-old has to answer for it.

As The Daily Mail has reported, the Los Angeles Superior Court judge said the hearing will continue on December 4. Prosecutor Michael Fern had previously stated at the Oct. 2 court hearing that “additional discovery is necessary” to move forward with the case.

Free on bail

The 51-year-old was arrested in Los Angeles on April 6, 2022, and officers served a search warrant for Gatt’s property at 4:45 a.m. the same day. Previously, the police received information that the actor had engaged in sexual communication with a minor online. Gatt has since been released again – he posted bail of $5,000. It is unclear whether the actor allegedly wrote to other minors. The investigation is ongoing.

Statement on the allegations

Gatt released a statement on his X account. In it, he rejected the allegations, calling them “horrific and completely untrue.” The actor also said, “I have clarified errors and misleading information in today’s press release.” But he said he is cooperating and working fully with the police and LAPD to get to the bottom of the matter.

Gatt also faces a second charge involving illegal possession of an offensive weapon.

In addition to Game of Thrones, he also appeared in films such as Thor, Star Trek Into Darkness and Tim Burton’s live-action remake of Dumbo in 2019.
