“Game of Thrones”: Iron Throne comes to Basel

The Fantasy Basel pop culture convention will take place in the halls of Messe Basel from May 26th to 28th. Visitors can look forward to an extensive program on an area of 70,000 square meters. A special attraction: the Iron Throne from “Game of Thrones”. The fair and the throne have a difficult common past.

The throne should be there in 2019 at Fantasy Basel, also known as Swiss Comic Con. But then the delivery failed due to English customs. In the following two years, the trade fair fell victim to the corona pandemic. But now the time has finally come: The iconic throne is coming to Switzerland. There, visitors can try out how it feels to sit on it – without intriguing in advance and getting rid of adversaries.

Fantasy Basel is one of the largest industry events in Europe. There will be a wide variety of exhibits from games, films and comics on display in four halls. And of course there will also be a lot of cosplay events. Prominent actors are also expected to attend, including Georgia Hirst (Torvi from “Vikings”), Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne from “Game of Thrones”) and Dean Cain (Superman from “Lois & Clark”).
