“Game-changer for snakebite treatment”: Nobel Prize winner team neutralizes snake venom with AI-designed proteins

Every year, snakes bite between 1.8 and 2.7 million people worldwide, of which around 100,000 die. Three times that number must learn to live with a permanent disability such as losing a limb. But that may now change thanks to a new discovery published today in the leading journal Nature. Scientists have designed new proteins with artificial intelligence that can neutralize snake venom.
