The art caravan has a headache. The participants of the 19th Gallery Weekend have had at least three days of partying, many even five. 55 galleries with 80 artists were part of the official part of the art marathon.
But the rest of the nearly 400 Berlin galleries also benefited from the vibes of this very special weekend. The Gallery Weekend attracts an estimated 25,000 guests. The audience: a colorful mix of a few really rich collectors, intellectual museum makers, decorative celebrities and many extravagant friends of the artists.
Ruinart made the start on Wednesday. Traditionally, the champagne label has an artist create a work of art for the Gallery Weekend. This time it was the French sculptor Eva Jospin (48), daughter of former Prime Minister Lionel Jospin (85).

Inspired by the landscapes of Champagne, she created an installation of drawings, embroidery and sculptures that will be presented in the official salon on Kantstrasse (until May 2nd, 2023). “It’s great to be able to show my work in a city like Berlin, where art plays a leading role,” enthused Eva Jospin at the vernissage.

Separation radiated away
Toni Garrn (30) was also more than happy at the party in the Camera Work gallery on Friday. The supermodel simply beamed away the gossip about her unfaithful husband, actor Alex Pettyfer (33). She did not want to comment on the separation.
As always, star gallery owner Judy Lybke (62) had a lot to say. Lybke invited 50 collectors and friends to dinner at the trio on Linienstrasse on Thursday. “The party lasted until three in the morning, today I’m going to bed early,” he groaned on Friday. So the neo-smoke discoverer was fit again for the big BMW dinner at the Hamburger Bahnhof on Saturday evening.

There, in front of the giant installation by Sandra Mujinga (34), 1000 guests enjoyed Beelitz asparagus and veal fillet. Of course, there was chatter about art. “We have an educational mission. Visitors don’t have to pay an entrance fee and everything is explained to them,” said Judy Lybke on the occasion.
The audience enjoyed the mix of culture and party. While the galleries offered the opportunity to talk to the artists, party hopping was clearly on the agenda in the evenings.

Whether in the Hotel de Rome with gallery owner Anahita Sadighi (34) or in the Provocateur Hotel with gallery owner Freddy Kornfeld (54) – the art of celebration was celebrated everywhere.
