Entering the new season with the championship password, Galatasaray is ending its number 6 transfer. The yellow-red team reached an agreement in principle with Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira. Galatasaray offered the star name a 3+1 year contract.
WHO IS LUCAS TORREIRA?
Lucas Torreira was born on February 11, 1996 in Uruguay. Torreira started his football career with his hometown Fray Bentos club, IA 18 de Julio.
After moving to Italy, he started playing in Pescara’s youth team. After the 2014-15 season, Torreira was included in Pescara’s first team. On 1 July 2015, Torreira transferred to Sampdoria for €1.5 million, but continued to play for Pescara on loan to gain first team experience in the 2015-16 season. On 9 August 2015, he scored his first professional goal against FC Südtirol at the 2015-16 Coppa Italia. After his loan contract with Pescara expired, Torreira returned to Sampdoria on 1 July 2016. He made his debut in Serie A on 21 August 2016. On 10 July 2018, Torreira transferred to English club Arsenal for an undisclosed transfer fee estimated to be around £26 million. He was loaned to Fiorentina in 2021.
