Is this the longest breakup in your career?
There were 2-3 months break, but this was the longest break. We had the joy of the Turkish Cup with Akhisar. As a coach who became champion after Başakşehir, I think that I need to be involved in the right project. I waited for this and I am waiting for the most suitable project.
Have you received offers during this process?
I received many offers from the Super League and abroad. It’s a project I wanted one hundred percent and I waited to take a step upwards. We love to work, but sometimes you have to wait. But I miss being on the sidelines. During this period, I watched the matches mostly on TV.
During the election process, your name began to be associated with Galatasaray. If an offer comes in, what will your answer be?
As a football player who has been trained in Galatasaray’s infrastructure, has served that jersey for many years and achieved great success, it is a pleasure to have my name for Galatasaray in my coaching career. I entered those facilities at the age of 11, played for 18 years. Then I had my Italy adventure. I went, I came. I left in 2008 as champion. The greatest happiness I will experience after this hour will be Galatasaray coaching. There is a selection process. It is not clear who the candidates will choose, but it is nice to have my name. I have a great support and interest from the fans both on the street and on social media. If such a task is given for this, I would be happy to take steps for the future of Galatasaray and to serve without thinking about anything material or moral.
