GAB takes over French retail subsidiary of Scotch & Soda

The future of the French Scotch & Soda brand stores seems secure. On Monday, the Belgian distribution group Groep Alain Broekaert (GAB) announced the complete takeover of Scotch & Soda Retail SAS. The company operates the label’s retail activities in France. According to the new owner, these currently include 26 stores including three outlets, 69 shop-in-shop areas and ten corners as well as four franchise stores. GAB announced that it would continue to employ the 123 employees under the same conditions.

As the founder of Scotch & Soda Belgium, the company, which has established itself as a sales partner for numerous well-known fashion brands in Belgium and Luxembourg, already operates the label’s 25 stores in these two countries. “With our long-term commitment to the Scotch & Soda brand and our experience in the internationalization of the company, we are excellently positioned to strategically manage the label and promote further growth,” explained GAB founder Alain Broekaert on the occasion of the acquisition that has now been announced statements.

Scotch & Soda filed for bankruptcy in March for its companies in the Netherlands. A few days later, the companies in question were acquired by the US brand management group Bluestar Alliance LLC, which has now also taken over the brand’s US business.
