G2 sweeps Fnatic out of the playoffs

G2 Esports is in the final of the European League of Legends league LEC. The team prevailed dominantly 3-0 against Fnatic and bought the ticket for the final. There the table top of the regular season Rogue is waiting.

“We learned a lot from the first game against Fnatic,” said G2’s Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé in the post-series interview. “We’re finally showing what we can do. We’re just having fun with the game.”

G2 off to a better start in the LEC classic

The players were greeted with applause: For the first time in over two years, the teams played in front of an audience in the Berlin studio. Buoyed by fan cheers, G2 started the best-of-five series better. The first game belonged solely to the team around Targamas.

In the second game, Fnatic showed some signs of life, but G2 regained control after a few minutes. Fnatic again found no answers and had to give up the second game as well.

G2 continued to carry the momentum into the crucial third game. The team built up a comfortable lead early on. Fnatic tried to fight back, but G2 answered every play. One exchange of blows followed the other.

After 40 minutes, G2 then found the decisive team fight and are now in the final with a streak of nine wins in a row. There the team meets Rogue.

“Rogue is a very strong team. They really challenge us,” said Rasmus “caPs” Winther in an interview. “We just have to show the same performance as today – then we can definitely beat them.”
