Dutch denim brand G-Star and glove designer Thomasine Barnekow have teamed up to create a limited-edition glove capsule collection. The Swedish couturier with an atelier in Paris works for fashion houses such as Schiaparelli, Mugler, Maison Margiela and Balmain, while also running her own luxury accessories brand, Thomasine.
The collection includes three handcrafted couture denim gloves created in Barnekow’s studio in Paris. The first design, “Second Hand,” was made from three G-Star denim jackets. “To Be Embraced” combines raw denim with soft lambskin to form a four-meter-long braided piece that can be worn as well as installed as an art object. The third design, “Hold Me Tight,” is the most sculptural design in the collection and is made from an innovative knit fabric made from finely cut denim, lamb leather in various colors and black elastic thread.
The unisex, limited-edition ready-to-wear gloves are available in two sizes (women’s size 7.5 and men’s size 8.5) and are available in the G-Star online shop and in Thomasine’s boutique in Paris. The price is 449 euros.
