Frank Ilett is a passionate Manchester United fan. To show his dedication, he promised not to cut his hair until his favorite club won at least five competitive matches in a row.
It happened by Ruben Amorim during the manager’s term – in October 2024.
On Saturday, United had the chance to claim a fourth straight league win when they traveled to Sunderland.
However, to Ilett’s chagrin, the hosts were clearly the more dominant team, and Manchester United could be satisfied with even a 0-0 draw.
In terms of the challenge, the situation is sad. Ilett’s win counter, which started no less than 581 days ago, reset to zero again.
On top of all that, United still have two games left to play this season, so the cut will inevitably move to the 2026-27 league season, which starts in August.
Next season’s league program has not been published yet, so it is impossible to know when the earliest he would have surgery on his thigh.
The only thing that is certain is that it will grow freely at least throughout the summer.
