Furla: CEO Mauro Sabatini is leaving

Mauro Sabatini, CEO of Italian accessories brand Furla, is stepping down. This emerges from a press release from the brand, which is available to the specialist magazine WWD. Until a new CEO is found, COO Devis Bassetto will take over, according to WWD.

Sabatini has been at the helm of Furla since January last year. Before that, he was Managing Director at Effueno, a leather goods brand and supplier to Furla, for 18 years. In 2018 Effueno was taken over by Furla.

At the end of March it became known that Furla is considering selling a stake in the company. How high this proportion will be is not known. Sources told WWD at the time that Furla had hired Lazard as a financial advisor and that the company’s dossier was circulating in Milan.
