Furious Mike Snoei fillets failing referee: “He came into the dressing room”

Mike Snoei was furious after the defeat at ADO Den Haag (3-1). Telstar’s trainer made mincemeat of the arbitration, which he believed was responsible for turning the match around. “It makes me very tired,” Snoei grumbles.

In the first half, Telstar took a deserved lead through David Min. There seemed to the White Lions no problem, but after the break ADO Den Haag completely turned the game around. “I have never seen a referee in the dressing room with us, but he came to apologize.”

According to Snoei, this was due to the referee, who, in his eyes, made several mistakes. “Özgür Aktas broke his nose in two places, but Xander Severina only got yellow for that. Prior to the penalty kick from ADO Den Haag, when Severina only went after Ronald Koeman Jr., the attacker was well offside.”

It was for keeper Ronald Koeman Jr. also an unhappy evening. In the second half he had to fish the ball out of the net three times. At the first free kick by Titouan Thomas, he stood looking stiff. “I only heard him,” says Koeman Jr. When Xander Severina broke through, he pulled the emergency brake, after which Thomsa Verheydt cashed in the penalty kick. “He’s smart, which makes him fall.”
