Fun playing Telstar is empty-handed again

Telstar did not manage to stunt tonight against NAC Breda. The White Lions lost 4-1 in their own stadium. Early in the game, coach Andries Jonker’s team took the lead with Roscello Vlijter’s first goal in professional football.

That happened in the tenth minute when Ozan Kökcü fired on the goal after a corner kick. The ball lingered and landed at the feet of central defender Vlijter. With his left he hit hard through the bottom of the bar.

NAC better and more effective

Telstar could not enjoy the lead for long, because in the nineteenth minute it was equal again. Odysseus Velanas was standing free on the edge of the penalty area and he simply curled the ball past keeper Ronald Koeman jr.. NAC striker Jeredy Hilterman then took care of the 1-2. Captain Sven van Doorm was trumped, after which Hilterman got the ball in front of his left foot and the ball hit the cross.

In the second half, substitute Glynor Plet could have equalized twice. The second chance in particular was great where he hit the outside of the post. That was fatal for the White Lions, because the Breda residents did strike. Velanas decided the game in the 68th minute, after which Boris van Schuppen in injury time determined the final score at 1-4.

Telstar is now the number fifteen in the first division with 29 points after 29 games. For NAC Breda, which rises to eighth place, it is the sixth victory in a row.
