Magdeburg also has no noticeable weaknesses

SC Magdeburg continues to show no weakness either: the Champions League winners had previously presented impressively in the long-distance duel with the Foxes and clinched the next clear victory. The Magdeburgers won the top game of the 21st matchday against MT Melsungen with 39:24 (16:11) and have now been unbeaten in 29 competitive games.

In the first leg, the two top teams only ended in a draw (29:29) in mid-December. In the home hall, however, the Magdeburgers left no doubt about their own victory from the start, the SCM was already leading by eight goals five minutes before the break and subsequently did not allow the guests from North Hesse to come close to winning a point.

“Veteran” Musche extends his contract

Shortly before the game, the SCM also announced that “veteran” Matthias Musche had extended his contract with his hometown club until 2027. In his 314th Bundesliga game, Musche contributed four goals; his team’s best scorers were Tim Hornke, Janus Dadi Smarason, Felix Claar and Michael Damgaard with five goals each. At the MT, Rogeri Moraes Ferreira (7) was the top scorer.
