Füchse Berlin: Hanning sees Drux as the ideal successor

Bob Hanning sees Paul Drux as his perfect successor as managing director of the handball Bundesliga club Füchse Berlin.

“I can’t imagine anyone better than Paul, he has the Füchse DNA in him. There is no one else comparable for this club. Paul simply brings everything with him: the heart, the intellect and the identification,” Hanning told the Berliner Morgenpost.

Hanning wants to give up his position on the Füchse executive floor in 2028, this year the former vice president of the German Handball Federation (DHB) will be 60 years old. “I said to myself, when I’m 60, I want to be free. I’ll have worked as much as if I were 90, if you add up the hours. And I just want to have the opportunity to do something without being stuck all the time “To be more driven,” said the now 55-year-old.

Drux is a perfect fit for the club and its family approach, “maximum motivation through identification. Paul has followed this path from the start here. And he will also have completed a master’s degree by then. I believe that Paul can be taken from that hearts out the way people followed me,” explained Hanning.

The official himself can imagine, after his work as Füchse managing director, taking on “the support of a national team that is not one of the big ones in the world”: “That would be around 60 days a year. Or a consulting position “To be available to youth players. From the age of 60, I can simply do what I want. I take this freedom. The best thing is that I can decide the beginning and end myself, that’s a great luxury.”
