The US, UK and Australia will expand the joint defense pact (called AUKUS) through the development of hypersonic weapons, informs Financial Times, citing sources.
According to the newspaper, US President Joe Biden is preparing to announce this on Tuesday, along with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
According to the Financial Times, the three states are uniting in order to counter the growing influence of China in the Indo-Pacific region.
