FSB reported on the drift of Ukrainian mines in the western part of the Black Sea

Some mines laid by the Ukrainian military on the approaches to the Black Sea ports began to drift in the Black Sea due to cable breakage under the influence of currents, reported in the FSB of Russia.

The department said that after the start of the Russian military special operation, the Ukrainian Navy placed several hundred anchor mines on the approaches to the ports of Odessa, Ochakov, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny.

“During the onset of stormy conditions, cable breaks (minreps) began to occur, connecting mines with bottom anchors. Under the influence of wind and current, mines move freely (drift) in the western part of the Black Sea. The break of the mines indicates the unsatisfactory technical condition of the mines.
