Frustrated Greek track down hard against Nakashima at Roland Garros | NOW

Tallon Valentijn has not come close to a place in the third round at Roland Garros. The Dutch number 58 in the world lost in three sets to American Brandon Nakashima: 6-7 (6), 4-6 and 2-6.

Greek track still seemed to be on its way to a win in the first set in a tiebreak. However, he lost a 6-2 lead and then expressed his frustration by smashing his racket.

In the second set, the 25-year-old Dutchman took a 3-1 lead, but he also relinquished this one. In the third set he also had to deal with physical complaints. Even after a short treatment, Greek track could hardly offer any resistance.

The native from Haarlem therefore does not succeed in continuing his great victory over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. On Sunday, he beat the 25th-seeded Spaniard, who reached the quarterfinals in Paris last year, in four sets.

Due to the elimination of Greek poor, Botic van de Zandschulp is the only Dutchman who is still active in singles. He currently plays against Italian Fabio Fognini. In the women’s race, Arantxa Rus was eliminated in the first round.

Twenty-year-old Nakashima, who had never won a match in Paris, will face German Alexander Zverev in the third round. He survived a match point against the Argentinian Sebastián Báez.
