There has been a long-standing plan to convert the old barn into an exhibition space that meets today’s requirements. A box-in-box structure has been built in the warehouse. This involves an investment of more than 2 million euros that offers many possibilities.
Sander Loones, mayor of Koksijde: “This space offers the opportunity to participate at a higher cultural level. Top works of art that would otherwise not be allowed to be exhibited can now hang here.”
At the same location in the Arts Center you can become acquainted with the surprising works of art by Della Calberson and the paintings by Kristof Santy from Roeselare. Both artists find their inspiration in everyday life, which produces original works of art.
Kristof Santy, painter: “A watering can is a beautiful shape, but a composition of a cake is also very interesting. For me that is inspiration to do something more with it.”
There is movement in Koksijde on a cultural level. Moreover, the city already has plans to build a new abbey museum.
