The Portuguese Samuel Barata was the first man to cross the finish line. “I feel very good, I had a good tailwind,” he told NH. “We ran fast, after 15 kilometers I tried to stay ahead, but everyone was very strong. In the last meters I had a little more strength in my legs and I pulled hard. I also believed that I could win, although “I felt a bit weak, but I kept my faith in it until the end.”
He is very happy with his first win in the Netherlands. The best part? “There were many people on the sidelines, and the people from the organization.”
