From RB Leipzig to FC Bayern? Tedesco relies on the time factor in Laimer poker

Departure to Bayern threatens

Before the Supercup against FC Bayern, RB Leipzig coach Domenico Tedesco is not worried about hiring transfer candidate Konrad Laimer. As for the 25-year-old Austrian moving to Munich, the time could work for the “Red Bulls” anyway. The more it passes, the less likely it is that the coach will leave. After all, the midfielder has to see for himself where he is.

Laimer would allegedly like to switch to the German record champions and is said to be in fundamental agreement personally with FC Bayern. The duel in the Supercup against the dream club is on Saturday. “I have no concerns,” said Tedesco on Thursday (quoted via dpa). “Konni trains very well. This is an athlete, this is a strong character. I am happy that it is my player and as long as there is nothing else he has my full support.”

Tedesco emphasizes: Laimer also wants clarity – free transfer to Bayern in 2023?

Tedesco said of the speculation that has been circulating for weeks: “The longer it drags on, the more difficult it will be to do it.” Bayern are said to have bitten on granite with their efforts so far in Leipzig. Plus for RB when it comes to time: Laimer himself also wants clarity, the coach emphasized. His contract with RB is valid until the end of June next year. If the Leipzig club managers still want to earn money with a change, they would have to let him go this summer. In a year he could go on a free transfer – a variant that is also considered more realistic by some in the discussion in the TM community.

I hope Laimer comes to us, whether it’s this season or next doesn’t matter to me. Why do I want to see Laimer with us? I want to see and see for myself why Nagelsmann absolutely needs him for his performances. I’ve gotten very curious now…

Laimer would not be the first professional that Bayern would get from Leipzig. Before last season, Bayern had signed coach Julian Nagelsmann, and they also brought in defender Dayot Upamecano and offensive player Marcel Sabitzer. Both were important RB players. For Laimer, Bayern are said to have already been rebuffed with two offers. Leipzig should insist on 30 million euros. The CEO of Saxony also said recently on “ServusTV”: “I hope that Bayern will find other ideas and not always get our players.”
