Prince Amadeiro XXVI (the 26th), former Prince of Oeteldonk, enters into national politics. The 55-year-old Koen Becking enters the outgoing cabinet as State Secretary for Fundend Education and Emancipation for the VVD. Becking was the Prince of Oeteldonk for five years and stepped up last year.
He thereby succeeds Mariëlle Paul. She becomes Minister of Social Affairs and Employment.
The VVD and BBB quickly had to find new ministers to catch the departure of the ministers and state secretaries of NSC. Becking is one of those new faces in the outgoing cabinet, which is only formed by the VVD and BBB.
From 2012 to 2020, Becking was chairman of the board of Tilburg University. But he is also a well -known one in Den Bosch. In 2019 he became Prince Amadeiro XXVI. He fulfilled that role for five years, until he immediately said goodbye to the Bossche Carnival in October last year.
