This year, the municipality of Zoetermeer will increase the rates for charging your electric car at public charging stations. This is an increase of almost 50 percent. Yet electric car drivers from Zoetermeers also have a stroke of luck.

Zoetermeer has entered into a new energy contract with higher rates than the 39.4 euro cents per kWh you are used to. According to the municipality, this is due to price increases in the energy market.

The rate at the public electric charging station in Zoetermeer increases from 39.4 euro cents per kWh to 58 euro cents per kWh. This is a price increase of 47 percent.

A piece of luck for Zoetermeer residents

In many municipalities outside the Zoetermeer region, the price increase to 58 euro cents per kWh already applied in 2023. Due to agreements with the energy supplier, the kWh price in Zoetermeer is approximately one year behind current prices. Partly for this reason, the charging rate in Zoetermeer was up to and including last year.
