Yet Van der Linde will never completely let go of the park. “Drouwenerzand is in my heart, I must feel a bit of emptiness there. But I am also happy that I can finally do things that I couldn’t do before. On holiday for three weeks, for example. I’m looking forward to that.”
Van der Linde looks back on the past thirty years with a sense of pride. “It all seems nice now, a successful park, but it was incredibly tough. Yet entrepreneurship is also great. Once it gets going, everything turns from negative to positive, and then it goes faster than you ever thought. I’m proud of what we have created, and I am sure my daughter and son-in-law will make something beautiful out of it.”
