One of the last summer evenings full of water fun and pleasure. That was the idea of Jasmijn Ermens and her friends. They built their own neighborhood slide in the Groote Wielen near Rosmalen. With a Gierton, agricultural plastic and lots of green soap, they gave dozens of neighborhood children and their parents a nice end to the summer holidays on Tuesday evening.

“We wanted to do something fun and today the weather was nice,” says Jasmijn. “We wanted to have a last summer night fun.” Two to three days ago she and her six friends decided to think of something nice for the neighborhood. “So that others could participate.”

The twenties arranged everything themselves. One of them already had a tractor with Gierton. They gained inspiration by watching videos. Around half past six they set up the slide.

“Twenty minutes later, half the neighborhood was there,” laughs Jasmijn. Around eight o’clock there were already about fifty children. “Children of 3 years did not dare to get rid of it at first, but now go up with their arms. It is such a nice end to the summer holidays together.”

Enforcement
Not only children participated. Their parents also put on swimwear and slid from the soap track. “It’s nice that everyone picks it up so positively.” Nevertheless, enforcement also came by after complaints from some local residents. “But they also like what we have done,” says Jasmijn. A warning was therefore not forthcoming.

The group of friends actually had other plans for Tuesday evening: barbecuing. “But we are too busy,” she says laughing. “So we just ordered fries.”
