A 36-year-old man from Rosmalen who robbed three gas stations will be behind bars for four years if the law has its way. The robber worked in a special way. For example, employees who he threatened with a knife received a ‘punching’ after he had taken something from the cash register.

The gas stations in Rosmalen, Heeswijk-Dinther and Schaijk were robbed between Monday September 16 and Sunday September 22. It was striking that the robber always wore the same clothes, but even more striking was how he acted each time.

There was a clear pattern. For example, during the three robberies, the man always walked to the cash register and ordered a pack of cigarettes. He then grabbed the employee behind the counter and threatened him with a kitchen knife. He then grabbed money from the cash register.

The salience is mainly in the tail; Before the robber left the gas station with the loot, he said ‘sorry’ or punched the threatened employee.

Addicted and in debt
The suspect was only arrested after a photo of him was shared on police channels. The 36-year-old man was recognized and arrested a day after the distribution of that investigation notice.

The man says he is addicted to drugs and admits to having committed the three robberies. In his own words, he saw no other way out due to lack of money.

On Thursday, the public prosecutor demanded four years in prison, of which six months were conditional. Furthermore, according to the officer, the man must undergo treatment for his addiction. He should also receive help in paying off his debts.

The judge will rule in this case in two weeks.
