French snail farmers start solidarity action for farmer after thieves steal entire end-of-year stock of escargots

L’Escargot Des Grands Crus in Bouzy, near Reims, fell victim to thieves this week. They stole almost the entire stock of vineyard snails, around 450 kilograms of fresh and frozen products with a value of an estimated 90,000 euros. The burglary also comes at the worst possible time: after all, the holidays are the peak period for the French delicacy “escargots”.
