The large forest fire in the southern French department Aude is still expanding further, partly due to the dry hot weather and strong wind. In the meantime, more than 16,000 hectares went up in flames. According to the weather forecasts, the unfavorable circumstances persist for some time, with warmer temperatures approaching. The French Prime Minister Bayrou went on the spot and calls the fire “a disaster of unprecedented size”.
