French parents want to stay close to badly burned daughter, West Flemish Salima helps them search: “So many people opened their houses”

An urgent appeal on Facebook, dozens of responses and ultimately help from an unexpected source. Salima El Bakali (45) from Dranouter was looking for shelter for French friends whose daughter was seriously injured in the fire in Crans-Montana. The girl is now in the Brussels burn center, but the parents live eleven hours away. A hotel in Tubize offered free rooms. “So much warmth in the new year,” Salima responds with relief.
