Freiburg II and FCK separate goalless, football | 3rd League – SWR – Regional

after the victories against Osnabrück and Havelse FCK went into the game at SC Freiburg II with a lot of self-confidence and four points ahead of the relegation place. But Thomas Stamm’s team also had no reason to hide after a series of eight games without defeat.

FCK off to a good start against SC Freiburg II

With 5,000 fans traveling with them behind them, the Lauterers made their ambitions clear after only two minutes in the Dreisam Stadium: Mike Wunderlich’s right-footed shot from ten meters and from an acute angle swept just wide of the left post. The hosts were not impressed by this and also tried to play quickly forward. In the 13th minute, Julius Tauriainen had the first chance for Freiburg. But his shot from around 18 meters sailed just wide of the post. It was an intense game with many duels. The Breisgauer, whose game had to be postponed the previous week due to a few corona cases with the opponent from Halle, tried long balls. However, Marco Antwerp’s team defended it well.

Freiburg attacked stronger in the first half

The FCK coach had made two changes to his team compared to the 3-0 win against Havelse on the previous day. Felix Götze and Kenny Prince Redondo replaced Nicolas Sessa and Daniel Hanslik in the starting eleven against Freiburg, who are strong at home. They convinced in the first half with a lot of ball possession and an increase in offensive actions. The Red Devils, however, did not get enough offensively. Even the otherwise strong standards were unsuccessful. So it went goalless in the cabin.

Freiburg keeps up well for a long time, then FCK takes control

FCK coach Antwerp reacted to his team’s poor performance and made the first two changes at half-time. Daniel Hanslik and Hikmet Ciftci came into play for Felix Götze and Kevin Prince Redondo. They should help boost offensive play. But first it was again Freiburg, who came dangerously close to the opposing goal. Lars Kehl put the ball in place from around 25 yards out and aimed it at the box. The long-range shot flew just wide of the right post. But then the strength of the Breisgauers gradually dwindled and the guests from Kaiserslautern got into the game better and better. After just over an hour, they created one chance after another and took control of the game. Then it got hotter. After an actually fair entry by Freiburg’s Kammerbauer near the center line, Winkler pushed him away and the players clashed. Suddenly almost all field players came together, but referee Haslberger quickly brought the situation under control and showed both Kammerbauer and Winkler a yellow card.

FCK leaves points in the promotion race

After that, both teams concentrated on the sporty again. The FCK tried it with the press bar, but still without counting. Antwerp reacted and took off Terrence Boy and Mike Wunderlich. René Klingenburg and Muhammed Kiprit came into play for the goalscorer and the veteran. But even with the new forces, FCK didn’t manage to score the decisive goal. The two teams parted ways scoreless.

SC Freiburg extended their nine-game unbeaten streak and should be satisfied with the draw. For the Lauterers, three points would have been important in the promotion race. After the international break, the Red Devils continue against MSV Duisburg (April 2nd/live on SWR Sport), the Freiburg team play at SC Verl, who are threatened with relegation.
