Frasers Group is apparently considering selling Liam Gallagher’s brand

British retailer Frasers Group is said to be in a series of talks over the potential sale of Pretty Green. The company acquired British musician Liam Gallagher’s brand from sporting goods supplier JD Sports last year.

Pretty Green was among 14 brands Frasers acquired from JD Sport in December 2022. At the time, the sporting goods group had announced that it would downsize its portfolio and focus on its sports category. The deal also included brands such as Base Childrenswear, Cricket, Kids Cavern, Missy Empire, Tessuti and Watch Shop.

According to information from the Drapers news agency, Frasers is said to be in talks with a number of interested parties in order to sell the brand. Pretty Green was originally formed in 2009 by former Oasis frontman Gallagher. JD Sports took over the brand after the company filed for bankruptcy in 2019.

The brand then became part of the package JD Sports sold to Frasers last year to divest a number of fashion brands that didn’t fit its focus on sportswear.

The news follows reports that Frasers Base will bundle childrenswear, Choice and Giulio, three other brands part of the JD deal, under the umbrella of Frasers Group-owned luxury retailer Flannels.
