“She went to a stone house for the first time. Those are very big steps for a camper. They hurt.” Bauer grew up in a caravan camp in Fijnaart. “They sometimes say: ‘some things are uppercuts in life.’ This was one too,” said the 51-year-old singer. “I would prefer to take her with me all day.”
Jan Smit, who was also a guest, caught Bauer’s emotions and came up with an idea for a new song. “Why can life be so mean sometimes?” became the title.
‘Not enough sung about life’
Bauer responded: “You know Jan, I think I have not sung enough about life in recent years. I have focused on party music.” The song, which was created during the recordings, has now been released.
