Frans Bauer: ‘If the Stones think of the Netherlands, it is of Amsterdam, the Arena and me’ | Stars

The singer is very surprised that his name was mentioned. On Thursday evening, thousands of messages poured into his phone. “Everyone is talking about it. So nice that Mick Jagger picked up on the statement of that fan who was so disappointed that the earlier Stones concert was cancelled. It’s a great honor to have such an icon mention your name, because there really isn’t a bigger artist like Mick Jagger.”

It is not the first time Frans’ name has been mentioned by the frontman of the Rolling Stones. “A few years ago, Jagger was in the Gelredome in Arnhem, where a large photo of me hangs on the wall. Then he apparently asked, “Who is that man in the white suit?” When my name was called, he then gave my number Do you have a moment for me sung. Now it’s the second time he’s called my name on a show, which may well be one of his last.”

The singer is over the moon. “Who can say that? When the Stones think of the Netherlands, they think of Amsterdam, the Arena and Frans Bauer. Now I belong in the row of windmills and tulips!”

big fan

Frans Bauer himself is also a big fan of the Rolling Stones. “I love all the songs, I even have a wall clock and gloves from the Stones. I’m actually still speechless about it.”

The singer is thinking of turning Jagger’s cry around for his fans. “Of course I can also say during one of my shows: ‘Glad you’re all here and not with the Stones!’ jokes French. Actually belongs the number I can’t get no Satisfaction also in my set list at home!”

On Friday evening, Frans Bauer will be at the Ballade in Terneuzen and will replace Mart Hoogkamer, who had to cancel the performance due to illness. Frans hopes that Mart will recover quickly. “It’s not nice for someone who likes to sing very much to have to cancel. I hope he is better soon.”
