Frankfurt Fashion Week bundles textile and fashion fairs in June

After the end of a large Frankfurt Fashion Week with the integration of the Berlin fashion fairs due to the pandemic, Messe Frankfurt is presenting a new concept together with the city of Frankfurt: for the first time, the leading textile fairs Techtextil, Texprocess and Heimtextil Summer Special are to take place at the same time in June, supplemented by the Neonyt, which will be opened to end users.

Textile fairs take place at the same time

From June 20th to 26th, 2022, the Frankfurt Fashion Week should finally be able to take place in the Main metropolis. From June 21st to 24th, all three of Frankfurt’s leading textile trade fairs Techtextil, Texprocess and the Heimtextil Summer Special, which was postponed from January to summer, will be held together at the Frankfurt exhibition center for the first time. According to the organiser, more than 1,000 exhibitors have already registered for the Techtextil and Texprocess trade fairs, and the Heimtextil summer event is also taking place at the request of the industry and is also posting a gratifyingly high registration rate.

Neonyt: Open to end users, location not yet determined

The merger with Neonyt is also new. Neonyt, designed as a “community platform for fashion, sustainability and innovation”, will also be open to consumers from June 24th to 26th, 2022 and will reinforce its multidimensional sustainability approach with the new “Neonyt Lab”. The topics for consumers interested in fashion include sustainable sourcing and processing, textile preliminary stages and the presentation of finished fashion collections, some of which can also be bought directly. Under the claim “New patterns”, new patterns, innovative experience formats for the sustainable cross-sector community, industry newcomers and all interested parties are also to take place. With numerous exhibitions, fashion shows, discussions and more, the Frankfurt Fashion Week wants to make the topics of sustainability, fashion, lifestyle and fashion culture tangible for everyone.

However, the location of the Neonyt has not yet been decided. What is certain is that it will not be located on the exhibition grounds, but in the immediate vicinity of the venues for the planned events. The exhibition company intends to announce more details in the coming weeks.

Val:ue will not take place for the time being

The Val:ue trade fair, which should have taken place for the first time in spring as a trade fair for the medium fashion segment in Frankfurt, but had to be canceled due to the pandemic, will also not take place. How the Val:ue will continue: “In June 2022, our focus will be on the conceptual realignment and the establishment of new, attractive D2C experience formats for Neonyt. Due to this focus and due to the numerous parallel events and trade fair formats, we will therefore initially be in summer 2022 not launch a Val:ue”, explains Ivonne Seifert, Director Marketing Communications, Textiles & Textile Technologies at the request of FashionUnited.

Focus on the entire textile industry

Together with the trade fairs, established conference formats and the community events of Neonyt, the Frankfurt Fashion Week shows the entire range of textile possibilities – from fibers to recycling. “With our portfolio, we welcome the entire industry to our hometown,” says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies.
