Frank Evenblij is not welcome at the Today Inside talk show table when his adventure at RTL Tonight ends. According to Johan Derksen, he adds far too little. “Quite nice.”
In a month’s time, RTL Tonight will cease to exist and that means that dozens of so-called experts will have to look for a new snack. Some guests are welcome to the competition, but for some the TV adventure will soon end. For example, Astrid Holleeder and Josine Droogendijk fall into the latter category.
Frank not welcome
And what happens to Frank Evenblij? In any case, they don’t need him at Today Inside. “He is a good colleague and a very nice guy, but he never actually has anything to say. He always kicks in open doors, is friendly and positive, but Frank doesn’t add anything to a talk show either,” says Johan Derksen in Greetings from Grolloo.
He continues: “The man has a pleasant appearance, I think Frank is a very nice man, but we would never put him with us, because he never says anything. In terms of sports, I think he kicks open doors. Hero worship.”
Boringest clearer
King expert Rick Evers also does not have to worry about his VI schnabble. Josine Droogendijk will not get in. “I think that’s about the most boring interpreter in the Netherlands. I always have a kind of zap moment when she comes into the picture with that reformed head. I’m also not at all interested in the royal family.”
“She only has non-news about the royal family and she reports it as if it were world news. She seems like a nice lady, but I think she is completely unsuitable to be an interpreter in a talk show. She has such a Christian head, you know. In the Bible Belt you see all kinds of ladies walking around who are similar to her.”
ADHD nonsense
Erben Wennemars is also not VI-proof. “I find that man’s ADHD nonsense extremely irritating. He only has an eye for the interests of his son. As long as I am there, I will oppose his arrival,” says Johan.
And Ben van der Burg? They don’t have to count on a VI comeback either. “Ben always does his absent-minded professor act. After two sentences it becomes gibberish and I can’t make anything out of it anymore. He is a very friendly man, but he cannot say something clearly so that the whole of the Netherlands understands it. I think the cyber man is demonstrably better.”
Only Albert
Actually, of all the RTL Tonight experts, only Albert Verlinde is welcome at VI. “I think you can place Albert anywhere. He is an ideal guest for RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws, because he is a real expert in the entertainment world. Albert would also be very welcome to join us again.”
Johan concludes: “We don’t blame him for leaving for money, because we did that ourselves. He is a very pleasant guest and, in addition to his specialty in entertainment, he can actually discuss any subject. He is a VVD member and that suits us well.”
