Actor Frank Lammers responded emotionally to the moving news about his colleague Bart Kelchtermans in the new episode of the Omroep Brabant podcast ‘Ni Na Lammers Listening’. The Flemish actor, known for his leading role in the series Blind Sherlock, has a rare immune disease and needs to be treated quickly.
The men know each other from the Netflix crime series ‘Blind Sherlock’ in which they play each other’s co-stars. Frank received the news via a group app. “Bart shared the news himself,” he says. The actor sympathizes with Bart, who has already had to deal with a lot.
Multiple setbacks
Bart Kelchtermans almost completely lost his sight four years ago and, just like in the series, is virtually blind. Now it appears that things are wrong again for the Flemish actor. He suffers from the immune disease XMEN and requires major surgery. The survival rate is estimated at about 50 percent.
In the podcast, Lammers addresses his colleague directly: “If you hear this, Bart… I wish you all the strength and all the love from this side. And I hope you get through this. You are still much too young for this kind of thing.”
According to Frank Lammers, the actor is positive about it and is willing to go for it.
