Last game before World Cup nomination
France overcomes tough test against Colombia

France coach Didier Deschamps’ B team also delivered and easily defeated Colombia. Despite eleven changes in the starting eleven, the L’Equipe Tricolor leaves no doubt.
France successfully passed the last test before the World Cup squad nomination and defeated Colombia 3-1. The French goalscorers Désiré Doué (30th/56th) and Marcus Thuram (41st) were particularly successful. Jaminton Campaz scored late (77′), but that didn’t change the clear outcome of the game.
In general, it was impressive to see how confidently the French team played. Coach Didier Deschamps had already announced before the game that he would change things up after the victory over Brazil (2-1), but in the end he replaced all eleven players.
Colombia’s coach Néstor Lorenzo can at least be satisfied with his team’s effort. At no point in the game did the Colombians let themselves down. At the same time, they often lacked the ultimate accuracy in attack and, especially in defense, they didn’t play consistently enough.
Whoever made it into the French World Cup squad through this last test will be decided in mid-May. In an interview with the French sports daily “L’Équipe”, Deschamps had already announced that he would announce his nomination on May 14th.
Here you can read the ticker
90th minute +4 – No more goals are scored in stoppage time, although Colombia has another chance and France counters immediately afterwards through Ekitiké. However, both degrees are defended. Afterwards the ball fidgets in the net again, but Mbappé doesn’t even celebrate because it is ruled offside. So France still emerges as winners from the last test before the World Cup nominations.
90th minute – There is a total of four minutes of added time here.
86th minute – Kalulu remains on the ground after a duel with Campaz. However, no foul play will be called. After a short moment, the Frenchman picked himself up again and was able to continue playing.
82nd minute – Colombia increases the intensity. It should be noted that coach Lorenzo’s players are not yet satisfied with the goal.
77th minute – Colombia shortens. After a cross from the right side, Cordoba initially fails with a shot from the turn. Then Campaz gets the ball again. The professional from Rosario shoots ice-coldly into the right goal and makes the Colombian fans cheer. Only 1:3 left
75th minute – A quick look at the bench: Mbappé is currently changing, apparently getting ready for a short stint.
70th minute – Here is the next drinking break. Landover recorded 16 degrees and pure sunshine.
67th minute – Ekitiké picks up speed on the left, moves into the penalty area and can shoot from the left from a good ten meters. Ultimately, the shot goes centrally to Montero and poses no challenge to the goalkeeper.
