PARIS (dpa-AFX) – People over 80 years of age can now get a fourth dose of vaccination against the corona virus in France. This should apply to those whose booster vaccination was more than three months ago, as Prime Minister Jean Castex announced in an interview with the French newspaper “Le Parisien” on Saturday evening. About 58 percent of people in France have already received a booster vaccination.

While the number of infections in France had continued to fall in the past few weeks after a record high at the beginning of the year, a few more infections have recently been registered again. The incidence value, i.e. the number of reported infections within one week per 100,000 inhabitants, was last nationwide at around 585. Further relaxation steps will follow in France on Monday./rbo/DP/zb
