Fox News bids farewell to host Carlson | after 6 years Abroad

The American news channel Fox News Media has ended its collaboration with conservative news presenter Tucker Carlson after six years. “We thank him for his service to the network,” Fox News Media said.

There is no successor yet, his program will have temporary rotating presenters. Carlson was a pro-Trump commentator for Fox News and managed to attract a huge audience. He was controversial because of his statements about race relations and LGBTQ rights, among other things.

According to the media company, the two have agreed to separate less than a week after Fox News and parent company Fox Corp. settled a defamation lawsuit for $ 787.5 million. The settlement prevented a lawsuit against one of the world’s largest media companies. Dominion Voting Systems accused the channel of recklessly broadcasting false election claims and conspiracy theories in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

Carlson was expected to testify. Carlson and his team alleged that Dominion’s Denver-based voting machines were used to rig the election in favor of Democrat Joe Biden. Dominion calls the statements defamatory.

Carlson’s last program was on April 21, the company said in a statement. His departure is accompanied by a terse acknowledgment from Fox. “We thank him for his services to the network.
