The police have arrested a fourth suspect for the art robbery in the Drents Museum. It is a 26-year-old man from Heerhugowaard. The police emphasize that it is not about the man who was taken in a photo in a hardware store in Assen.

The man was arrested this morning in Obdam.

The suspect was arrested on the basis of investigation of the criminal investigation department. The police cannot yet say whether there is a relationship between the three suspects who have been arrested earlier. “We are going into interrogation with this suspect, for the time being he is in full limitations,” said the spokesperson. The latter means that the suspect may only have contact with his lawyer.

The police also announced that searches made at different locations in the municipality of Koggenland, including in a garage box and a home. Two vehicles, clothing and data carriers were seized. A house search was also made at a home in Heerhugowaard.

The stolen art treasures are still without a trace, finding it still remains the highest priority of the police investigation.

By picking up this suspect, the police currently have four suspects under lock and key, all four they come from Heerhugowaard. The two men who were arrested earlier were told despite hearing that they stay stuck for ninety days longer. The custody of the suspect woman has been extended by thirty days.
